I always order chicken madras here and love it but for some reason this time it looks and tastes just like milk!

You know when you open the quickly delivered bag and breath the aroma of delicious food? That's what I did. I had the Chicken Malai and Chicken Wings. Loved them!

Food is not good. Watery and no flavor. Paneer was firm and chewy- called to actually check it wasn't tofu.

Never got my order. Called after 1hr and 20min when it said 30-45 min, he said something was wrong it would be another 15 minutes. I cancelled and now heating up soup I had. Disappointing...I hope I receive my credit.

I never write reviews but I JUST got my order and it was terrible. The salmon tikka was some sort of patty. The veg pakoras were tasteless. It makes me sad that someone opened this restaurant. Do NOT order from here. Even though other places are more expensive they are worth it compared to whatever it was that I just got.
Posted 2 years ago by Marie W.
They're open late, so that's a plus. The samosas were pretty awesome. Good crunch, good flavor, great sauces. The korma sauce however wasn't what I was expecting. It comes off as a little bland unfortunately. Textually it leaves something to be desired. *shrugs* Who knows. Maybe it's my American palate and I just don't care for a traditional Korma recipe. All I can offer is what I thought of it.

Low quality of meet and watery sauce (I had the vindaloo). I'd recommend Brick Lane.
Posted 2 years ago by Julian M.
I have ordered Indian food before on seamless and it is usually decent or good. Never have I ever had such terrible/tasteless food as I did from this restaurant. The rice pudding was like boiled rice, milk and sugar just mixed together. The carrot halwa was carrots soaked in orange watery milk and I can't even describe the gulab jamun. The syrup was like plastic! I don't even think that was sugar syrup. Very disappointing to see restaurants dishing out such sub standard food.

The flavor of the tikki-masala was not great.

Do not order from here. Dinner is tasteless.
Posted 2 years ago by Jami C.
Horrible food! I had the veggie samosas and they were the worst I ever had. The aloo ghobi smelled old, the veggies were undercooked and hard and the sauce was completely tasteless, except for the strong garlic taste. Not recommended!

Chicken tikka masala was delicious!

I was a little concerned when I saw so many bed reviews but I decided to give it a chance and I am glad I did. The food was very good and the delivery didn't take a long time ( especially for a rainy day). I will order again from this restaurant.

Excellent, fast delivery, good prices. Our go to for a quick hot lunch at work for a few years now.

Just got my food 1 hour and 45 minutes late. Not joking. And it was cold. Don't order from here.

ordered Rasmalai, but never received it.

Ordered tandoori chicken lunch special and aloo chaat. Food was not great and chicken was not properly marinated and cooked. Only part I liked was the soup.

Always slow, average food, small portions
Posted 2 years ago by Minesh B.
worst service ever. Had to wait 2 hours for the food to get delivered. On top of that the food sucked. It obviously was cold not to mention that it was tasteless. Worst indian food I have ever eaten in NY. Never ever ordering from it again and would not recommend to anyone.

Every time I order the quality drops and they get the order wrong and forget to send things.

Food is great, delivery is good but second time in a row I received soup instead of salad.

Delivery was prompt and the portions were perfect. The chicken korma was very tasty, try this place out some of the ratings can be deceiving. Everything was well packaged and great buy for the price you pay.

food was not bad but my food came after almost 2 hours. called them after an hour and 20 minutes and they said the food will be here in 5 minutes but apparently not. not even an apology.
Posted 2 years ago by Winnie T.
This was the worst Indian food I've ordered in Hell's Kitchen. It was bland and flavorless, and the rice was soggy in places and undercooked in others. I will never be back.
Posted 2 years ago by Matt R.
Worst indian food I have had in NYC after living here since 1999. In addition, the food took 2 hours to be delivered and was COLD. The Naan felt like it had just come out of the fridge. After calling and complaining many times, they decided to give me 50% off which seemed a bit ridiculous given it was delivered at 1:30am!!!
Posted 2 years ago by Anthony C.
Took forever to arrive, they messed up my order and everything tasted bad. The only thing I like was the naan. Will NOT be ordering again
Posted 2 years ago by Grete G.
I'm sure the food is ok, but the delivery estimate was 30-45 and we are now at 100 minutes and counting.

Most disgusting Indian food I've ever eaten. Ordered the chicken vindaloo, took two bites and threw out the rest of the food.
Posted 2 years ago by Ira C.
Vegetarian lunch special - malai kofta - really good!!
Posted 2 years ago by Michael D.
very bad, very inauthentic.
Posted 2 years ago by Morgan H.
The food was honestly awful… I got the Chicken Saag, which is my favorite Indian dish normally - it was awful. Iwas too scared to eat the chicken and threw it all away. There was barely any flavor. The rice sucked. It was so bland and over cooked. The garlic naan was good, but that's hard to mess up. Delivery was longer than expected, but still under an hour. I will never order from here again - disgusting.

Food is great. Thought I ordered mango lassi and received regular, otherwise great. Food tracker not working. Recieved food at 10:35, tracker updated at 10:45 that food is out for delivery.

The worst. Gross food. The worst!!!!!!!!!! Do not order from here. They send a dish with the wrong food, ask for white meat chicken they will send dark meat chicken. It smells nasty and I would not taste it. The smell is so bad.
Posted 2 years ago by Spencer K.
The food is fairly good, especially the naan. However, I was disappointed at their curry chicken. It had less chicken and lacked flavor.
Posted 2 years ago by Desiree N.
worst tikka chicken masala ever. No flavor, was so upset when I got it because I was really craving it. I tossed it, wasn't worth wasting the calories, awful

AWFUL service. I ordered at 12pm. Got a confirmation at 12:30pm with a 30-45 minute long wait time. It is now 2:06pm and I have not received any food. I will not order from here again. So unfortunate.

I strongly advise against this restaurant. I have now had two bad experiences, the most recent, on Sept. 6th, involved discovering a piece of RAW chicken in my cucumber raita. I am now in the second day of salmonella poisoning. I called them to notify them of this horrendous error, and all they could say was, gosh, we can't understand how that could happen. But I do: really sloppy kitchen.

Great prices, fast delivery and wonderful food. I can only speak for the vegetarian options but I adore it! Try the coconut naan :)

Great food, really good samosa and biryani
Posted 3 years ago by omri b.
They were very quick with delivery and the Malai Kofta was excellent. Really really good. The Naan was also pretty delicious (I just wish they offered garlic naan as an upgrade instead of an entirely separate order). I will be ordering from here again to try their Tikka Masala, but definitely will not bother with the Pakora next time. It's not great Pakora to begin with, and definitely doesn't hold up in transit. They were pretty mushy upon arrival, but even if they'd been fresh I wouldn't go back for seconds. Malai Kofta saved the day on this one.

Posted 3 years ago by John C.
A bit on the top end of our food delivery budget, but great quality and taste. The Cheese Paneer and Butter chicken are the best I've tasted.
Lots of rich and super spiciness, but nothing obscenely hot. The breads are always hot, and freshly made and super delicious.
we order from them every other week.

Food came very quickly and the Navaratan Korma lunch special was worth the price! So much food. Very good Korma, just enough spice. I will be ordering from here again!
Posted 3 years ago by Kaitria R.
Food comes very promptly, raita and naan and sauces are excellent. Butter chicken has been mostly great, one time it was very soupy, but otherwise excellent. Definitely among my faves!

They never delivered our food after 2 hours of waiting and calling non-stop. Terrible service
Posted 3 years ago by Robert D.
Terrible! Do NOT order from here!
1) Didn't have my order so they called and replaced it with something cheaper
2.) they refused to give me the difference in order value
3) then told "I would get bread only"
4.) they refused to cancel my order
5.) I called back and said they have to bring me the difference or I'll call Seamless web
6.) they agreed to bring the difference and then stoned delivery guy shows up without out.
7.) order was missing sauce

I recently moved to the HK and have been trying different Indian restaurants until I find the BEST! This is the first time I've ever wrote a review on it, but I do not want anyone else to waste their money. If I wasn't so hungry, I would trash this Bombay crap and order from Sapphire Indian, which is where I ordered last week....Bombay has horrible food! the bread was doughy...sauce was runny....wont be ordering again.

so late that you lose your hunger before the food come. not recommended.
I would give it 3.5 stars. Its on par with Indus and cost lower, neither one uses the really good jasmine/basmati long grain rice

So rude. The delivery man came into my office, spent five minutes at the front desk demanding to see the person who had ordered the food, and then complained about his (already generous) tip and demanded more.

food was delivered on it's side so there was sauce everywhere, nan is thicker then a waffle and came with no napkins or utinsels to eat said dry chicken and flatbread.

Very unimpressive food. We ordered for a large group of people on the trading floor and the food has no taste. Half my order was missing as well. This is what happens when the people try to sell a lunch menu for $7 in Manhattan.

This was the first (and last) time I ordered dinner from this restaurant. I have ordered from several Indian restaurants in the midtown west / hell's kitchen area - some of them were really good, some were average, but the food from here (although priced similar, if not more expensive, compared to other restaurants in the area) was way below par - both in terms of taste and quality of ingredients. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and a Malai Kofta as my entree, and they come with rice. The Paneer (cottage cheese cubes) was hard, the Koftas (vegetable balls) were still frozen from the inside and seemed to have been thrown into the curry straight from the freezer, both the curries were watery (no texture at all), and lacked both - quality and taste. The rice was not Basmati - and was also tasteless. The one star is for the Naans - which I thought were fine. But then, the Rotis messed it up - they were undercooked and had a strange flavor. Overall, a disastrous meal - and woke up with a bad stomach, too. This was by far my worst Indian meal in New York City. Given the abundance of good Indian restaurants for dine in, take out, and delivery in the area - I would strongly recommend you choose wisely.

I decided to try the place despite the so-so reviews because of the discount. My chicken korma was tasty, the meat was surprisingly tender, and the food arrived fast. The color of the curry was a little scary (BRIGHT yellow) but otherwise all was fine. Would order from here again.

I ordered the Tikki Marsala which was...ookay - the chicken was a little weird AND there was like 2 small pieces - but THEN I woke up in the middle of the night bent over because my stomach hurt so badly! Its 10:36 the next day and my stomach still isn't right. A friend I ordered with said he got sick too. I wouldn't order from here again.

We love Bombay Indian Cuisine. We live in the neighborhood and enjoy ordering take out and also strolling up 9th Avenue and eating in. We have been coming here for years and the staff is incredible - friendly and accomodating. They know our favorite dishes by heart and cater to the vindaloo taste buds of my husband and my desire for mild cuisine. The chicken vindaloo is amazing - not just hot and spicy, but filled with flavor. I love their spinach entrees - chicken dildar, sag paneer, chicken & lentils with spinach and chickpeas and spinach - all flavorful - lots of depth in the spices and always the possible delight of biting into a cardomon pod. Their mango lassis are delicious and refreshing and the keema paratha and the nan are fabulous. Once, when the mulligatawny soup was just too spicy for me, the owner went back into the kitchen and made it again just for me - flavorful but without the heat. The papadum is always fresh and crisp and my husband adores their meat samosas. At the end of the meal, we are always treated to a little dish of Indian rice pudding - rice, cream, cocount and pistachios - on the house. A sweet treat! The people who run Bombay Indian Cuisine are always lovely and attentive. When we eat there, we feel like we are part of their family. Oh, and did I mention how incredibly inexpensive this restaurant is - we always take home a doggie bag and enjoy the leftovers the next day for dinner. Given all the trendy and expensive restaurants that have sprung up on 9th Avenue, Bombay Indian Cuisine is a treasure.

the chicken tikka masala lunch special is soo Good! It was still really hot when it got to me. The lettuce and tomato wrapped in tin foil was a little weird...(is that supposed to be a side salad or to be mixed in with my food)? The main course was still delicious anyway.

The best Indian in the neighborhood -- I have never actually eaten there, but the delivery is fast, the food comes hot (even the naans/breads!), and the portion sizes are a great value. Overall a great find and highly recommended if you need your Indian food fix.

Great Food - Quick Delivery
Posted 8 years ago by Noam L.
The food was amazing. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala Lunch Special and the chicken was moist, the tikka masala was just sweet and curry-y enough that it was one of the best I've had. The delivery was on time and they included plates and utensils.
Posted 8 years ago by Kellie F.
The food and service is always excellent! The meat is tender and delicious. The naan comes piping hot. A must in this neighborhood!

Excellent Chicken Tikka Masala- made in true north Indian style (which I like better). I ordered 'medium' spice but it was barely mild....
Posted 9 years ago by Pete D.
Food is decent. However, didn't come with any utelsils, or plate. Delivery is fast, however, they do not read delivery instructions.
